Joe Daniel – Indie Label Market

Joe Daniel graduated from Goldsmiths University in 2002 and founded record label Angular Recording Corporation in 2003. Early success with Bloc Party, Klaxons and The Long Blondes led to a partnership with Domino Recordings, and together they signed These New Puritans, whose album ‘Hidden’ was awarded Album Of The Year by NME in 2010.

From running a small independent label Joe acquired experience in all aspects of the industry including A&R, marketing and product management, whilst also moving into management and publishing too.

Joe launched the successful ‘Independent Label Market’ event in 2011, which has expanded to Europe, the US and Canada since it’s inception, and will host a number of events in 2015. This ‘farmers market for record labels’ has proved a popular addition to the calendar for music industry and fans alike.
